TIIP at Work

A live interactive workshop employing playfulness, improvisation, & movement to relieve work-related stress.

Burnout is real.

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), “burnout and stress are everywhere,” with close to 76% of Americans reporting that they are experiencing burnout.

What does that mean for your organization?

Close to 25% of American workers believe receiving better mental health-related policies at work would help them avoid or reduce the experience of burnout.

2020 survey commissioned by Spring Health and conducted online by The Harris Poll among 1,136 employed U.S. adults.

When work becomes play, and play becomes your work, your life unfolds.

How can TIIP help?

Using Trauma Informed Improv and Play (TIIP) we address workplace burnout by exploring embodied play and improv exercises which rely on spontaneity and mental flexibility in order to:

  • Decrease burnout
  • Support individual wellness
  • Foster team-building
  • Increase engagement
  • Develop communication skills.

Why play?

Studies have shown that playfulness in adults has robust relations with outcome variables such as intrinsic motivation, creativity and spontaneity, and positive attitudes towards the workplace or job satisfaction.

Proyer, R. T. (2013). The well-being of playful adults: Adult playfulness, subjective well-being, physical well-being, and the pursuit of enjoyable activities. European Journal of Humour Research.

Employee mental health care doesn’t have to be too expensive or hard to come by.

TIIP at Work is a cost-effective and FUN program with positive results for employees, managers, and the workplace.

We are master’s-level therapists with decades of experience treating trauma in mental health and social work settings, specializing in using improvisation, play, theatre, and movement for healing. In 2014, we came together in a therapeutic theatre group to support youth with complex trauma. Partnering with CFTE in 2018, we developed Trauma Informed Improv and Play (TIIP).
